Annette

Who is Annette Hansen-Schmidt?

My interest in Oriental Medicine was sparked in 1991 when I began studying acupressure massage at the Universal Institute of Healing Arts in Montpelier, VT. In 1995 I completed a training in Shiatsu at the Ohashiatsu Institute in New York City.
In May of 2000 I graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland. In August of 2000 I received the Vermont State License , which is based on the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) requirements.

In 2013 I completed a training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture® held at the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston, MA. This in depth training included cadaver dissection, understanding Western treatment options for musculoskeletal injuries, as well as developing an acupuncture treatment perspective.

Through my work with my clients and my studies I continue to deepen my fascination for Chinese Medicine, it's inclusiveness of the body-mind-spirit connection, and with the relevance this ancient system of healing has for us today.
